Profesora de lengua y literatura española en John Jay College y especialista en literatura, peninsular (Siglo XX) y cubana del Período Especial.

Es:

• coordinadora de los cursos de lenguas extranjeras
• vice-presidente del CUNY Council on World Language Study
• colaboradora de la Academia Norteamericana de la Lengua Española
• miembro del PEN Club Internacional Cubano
• co-editora de la Revista Círculo
• editora de la revista noticiosa del capítulo de Nueva York de la Asociación de Profesores de Español y Portugués
• autora de Autobiografía ficticia en tres autores del siglo XX: Unamuno, Martín Gaite y Semprún, Grammar Made Easy y Language through Structure.

Fue presidente y miembro del concejo ejecutivo de la Asociación de Profesores de Español y Portugués (AATSP) y ha publicado múltiples artículos sobre literatura peninsular, mejicana, cubana y traducciones literarias.
